Inserted below is the Lake Erie Tri-State's July newsletter which covers the 2011 State WIT Rally
from that club's perspective. I hope that it captures a flavor of the fun that we had and that you will consider joining us next year.

The 2011 PA State Rally is now an event of the past.  Attendance was down this year with just 64 rigs of which 6 were from Lake Erie TriState. Attending were Don Hazen, Kathy Plant, Jim and Betty Marshall, Al and Gail Carnahan, Ron and Loretta Gister,  and first timers Terry and Sandy Mahoney.  Don arrived at 9 am on Wednesday and before he could even get his own RV set up the motor homes began arriving.  Don and Jim were the parking team and had 2 members of other clubs assisting them in parking 30 rigs.  On Thursday they parked 30 more.  On Friday they parked the final 3 rigs by noon.  A whole row of motor homes arrived from Maryland, 2 from other states and 1 from Canada.

Two motor homes arrived from Ray Wakley’s RV service. It is so nice to have them participate in the rally.  Grumbines also sent 5 rigs.

Light supper was provided on Friday night by the Three Rivers Club.  LETS provided an ice cream social following the supper.  Entertainment was provided by a magician following the ice cream social.  Then some of the door prizes were distributed and was followed by games.

Saturday was the usual pancake breakfast. The Eastern reps opened the WIT clothing store and vendors were also open for business.  Then it was game time with each club providing 2 games.  Don Hazen’s golf game was very popular.  In the afternoon Keystone Winnies presented beanbag baseball. Saturday night dinner was provided by the ladies of the grange and was a very good meal.  A program of music by Dan and Galla followed dinner.  Galla was a former student of president Russ LaForce.  They have been with us for quite a few times.  After the program, the rest of the door prizes were given out and the winners drawn for the Pennsylvania Baskets.  First timer Sandy Mahoney from our club was one of the winners.

Our club was responsible for the PA Baskets and this year a lot of different items were donated and because there were so many, larger baskets had to be purchased.  These baskets are the big money raiser for the rally and this year they brought in $431!

Sunday morning began with coffee, donuts and muffins.  Jim Marshall conducted the church service and as usual was very inspirational.

After the church service, president Russ LaForce conducted a short business meeting and at the close everyone headed home.

Keystone Winnies and some of our club stayed for several days more for a campout.  They enjoyed a few side trips, pot lucks and games. One of the games involved multiple balloons, tennis balls and noodles.  I was told I would have wanted to see them but don’t ask for details because what happens at the Grange stays at the Grange!!
